Stockhausen in Schmallenberg

Positive: the food is excellent, the staff is super friendly, in a quiet location, the rooms and the entire hotel are very well maintained. Riding stables and riding instructors directly at the hotel. Negative: The room furnishings are very old and need a transfer to the present day.

Cons: - Significant renovation backlog in the furnishings, rustic oak veneer, poor soundproofing, narrow shower room with sink at an impossible height (about the hollow of the knee) - Cool and emotionless or listless greeting at check-in, little to no information - Non-transparent invoicing. Individual amounts are not broken down, no control option - Children's playground clearly showing its age. Old ketcars, unsecured seesaw, sandpit with lots of broken utensils - Outside areas look neglected, the entire commitment is probably put into the golf course belonging to the hotel. It's a shame actually. Per -very good food with friendly service staff. - nice indoor pool - nice riding offer (reservation recommended) Due to the condition of the room and other furnishings, not appropriate price-performance ratio, where the four stars are supposed to come from, I can't say. I would have max. 3 awarded, more likely 2.5

Very nice family-run hotel

A place of well-being with friendly staff in a beautiful landscape. I have been there twice with children and grandchildren and will definitely come again.

Very nice staff and great food. Unfortunately some of the rooms are still very outdated, but they are gradually being renovated. But otherwise a great hotel to recharge your batteries and rest.

A really great place, such nice people. Great hospitality. Unfortunately we were only there for one night but we'd love to come back. I can only recommend this holiday hotel to anyone who needs a short or long break.

We stayed 3 nights in the hotel. Everything was to our satisfaction, the staff was very attentive and friendly. We had half board, there was something for everyone. The hotel is getting old, but everything is clean and tidy. We would love to come back.

I was checked in spontaneously for an overnight stay in the hotel. In the evening there was a buffet. This included the best food I have eaten in a long time. The staff are very attentive, friendly and have every need met. The rooms are very old fashioned but very clean. The indoor pool is very large and offers a lot of equipment. Overall, I would love to come back here again and again and highly recommend the hotel.

A nice hotel in a rural location, parking lot and golf course right next door. We were here for 5 days with half board, the food was super delicious and plentiful (3-course menu). Freshly prepared egg dishes are also available for breakfast. Friendly staff. I was also allowed to charge my electric car :-) Nice swimming pool and sauna area (which, however, was still closed thanks to Corona). We were satisfied *****

The pool is great and the food is delicious. However, we got a rather older room for the slightly higher price.

You can tell the hotel the fight against the constant threat of bankruptcy .. The rooms are old, the bathrooms tiny and the pool rather a lagoon and the slide almost from the museum. Very good is the location of the hotel. You can go to many beautiful hiking trails and with the offered Sauerland app you also have continuous hiking navigation. There is a golf course right next to the hotel. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The kitchen is amazingly good, but you can in Schmallenberg and the surrounding area, since almost everyone lives from tourism, at all very good home cooking and bourgeois food. Wonderful as the old Mr. Stockhausen despite some health problems still every evening at the tables came to entertain his guests personally: a little anecdote here, a joke there .. Just incredibly charming. How to create regulars !! The junior boss who was married should urgently cut off a huge slice of it, if the hotel should not soon enter into the Sauerland hunting grounds ... The audience is as usual in Sauerland older semester but many regular customers appreciate the good food and the wonderful peace knowledge. Especially nice was the massage couch. After long and beautiful hikes and a few laps in the hotel pool followed by a sauna session, I could be wonderfully knead on the couch

A very nice hotel in the old style. The rooms are clean. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The food is just great. A compliment to the kitchen. The swimming pool and sauna invite for fun and relaxation. The bowling alley is getting a bit old, but if you're not a professional, it's still fun. In addition, there is a small gym. This was my first time here and I am very satisfied.

This hotel comes highly recommended. The hotel offers a lot, such as Wellness offers, hairdresser, swimming pool with slide, playground for children, table tennis room, solarium, fitness room, massage bed, riding stables, ski slope (distance 100 m), hiking and much more ... For children there is an indoor playground nearby, where you can get in free of charge with the spa card from the hotel. An amusement park and an outdoor swimming pool and other leisure options are also nearby. I think the rooms are furnished in a rustic style. Still, it's very cozy. Toilet, shower, hairdryer, bed, table, chair, information material, television, wardrobe, couch, minibar, telephone, radio. The rooms are clean. The owner and the whole team is very friendly👍💪 The food is very, very tasty. Praise to the chefs and the kitchen team. The service is very attentive and always has a smile on their face. In my opinion the price-performance ratio is okay because the hotel offers a lot and the food, which is important to me, is very good. A very nice hotel. Nice rooms, good beds and great food. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy the 18-hole course and those who do not like it can enjoy the swimming pool, sauna or beauty treatment. The hotel is of course equipped with a fitness room and the area is ideal for long walks. The latter even with the dog, because he is also welcome!
